The most famous and mysterious places on the map of Russia

The most famous and mysterious places on the map of Russia.

Almost in every region of Russia there are legends about places where strange and inexplicable things happen: roads that you can go for hours on and on without going anywhere; the mountains, where local tribes made sacrifices and where the spirits of the dead continue to roam and the lakes, where people disappear without a trace.
We decided to explore these places and give a scientific explanation of the mystery of origin as far as possible, based on their nature and history of observations.

Molobsky triangle1

This natural anomaly is located in the area of the village of Molёbka; its size is about 70 square km. According to the villagers, here in 1980 a meteorite fell. The expedition sent in 2003, which included scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences, did not find anything, but declared: “there is something there”. Unusual natural phenomena do not cease in the Molobsky triangle: tourists and researchers observe multicolored flashes, luminous objects and sound hallucinations.Often there are people who have health problems: headaches and temperature fluctuations.

Rastess Village2

When the Babinovsky road passed through this village in the Sverdlovsk region, connecting the European and Asian parts of Russia. There was ill fame about the village in which the gold miners lived with their families: they saw the mysterious glow and said that evil spirits live here.
One fine (or rather awful) day, all the villagers simply disappeared. And the local cemetery is frightened by the abundance of dug graves. Locals bypass the extinct village side, and travelers try not to stay here for long.

Mountain of the Dead (Dyatlova Pass)3

Between the mountain Kholatchakhl (from the Mansiysk "mountain of the dead") and another unnamed peak is the infamous Dyatlova pass. It was here in February 1959, under unexplained circumstances, a group of tourists led by Igor Dyatlov perished, and the pass was named after him. The cause of their death was called for some time and local Mansi, guarding the sacred mountain, and an accident during the testing of new weapons and even UFOs.The real reason remained unknown, and the fact is that since then, people have died in the area of the Dyatlov Pass, sometimes in whole groups.

Lovozero4

On the Kola Peninsula, there are also anomalous zones - this is the so-called Lovozero. Many expeditions that visited this place noted the mysterious curvatures of time and space and changes in the gravitational field of the Earth. And local residents share stories about the numerous testimonies of the famous snowman's habitation here.

Death Valley (Vilyuy)5

Another black spot on the map of Russia is the area called Yelayu Cherkechekh, which means “Death Valley” in Yakut. The appearance of this anomaly is associated with the fall of the Tunguska meteorite. In the 1950s, the seekers of Yakut gold claimed that near the small river Algiy Timirnit (“The Big Cauldron Drowned”) they actually saw 7 huge boilers, as if made of copper, and from which even trees grow. Those daredevils who decided to spend the night in such boilers (supposedly, the air in them is warmer than in the environment) showed signs of radiation exposure in the morning.
There is a rational explanation for the occurrence of boilers. For example, in favor of the version of a fallen meteorite, broken up into 7 fragments, said the presence of residual heat and radiation.

Medveditskaya ridge6

It is a chain of hills about 250 meters high, located near the city of Zhirnovsk in the Volgograd region. Attention to this ridge is attracted by tunnels inside the hills, made by an unknown person. Locals claimed that fireballs flew through the tunnels. At the beginning of World War II, the entrances to the tunnels were blown up, leaving in folklore the infusions of UFOs and countless treasures of the Volga robbers buried deep in their depths.

Devil's Cemetery7

At the junction of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Irkutsk Region, a little north of Lake Deshembetsky, there is the Devil's Glade. For the first time, the Devil's Cemetery was mentioned in the 1920s, when local residents discovered that the cattle that had been trafficked into its territory perished in a mysterious way, and that people’s health deteriorated sharply. Expeditions sent to these places or mysteriously disappeared, or returned in an incomplete composition, none of whose participants wanted to talk about what happened. The cause of the anomaly is a fallen space body or a UFO crashed.

Lake Shaitan8

The oval lake in the south of the Kirov region is amazingly beautiful, but the locals try to avoid it. The fact of the matter is that sometimes pillars of water rise from the lake, like geysers. According to an ancient legend, a demon lives at the bottom of the lake, and when he is angry, water boils and spills out in fountains.
The unusual behavior of the lake is easily rationally explained by its origin: the reservoir is a karst well. In its depths are artesian water under pressure. Chunks of peat accidentally caught in cracks of the peat form corks that fly out under high pressure, and fountains of water are pulled out to the surface without any regularity. To date, Lake Shaitan attracts many tourists and fishermen.

Arkaim9

In the south of the Chelyabinsk region in the steppes, there is an ancient, ancient settlement, abandoned about 4 thousand years ago. Arkaim, burned, apparently by its own citizens, had a ring structure and was oriented according to the stars. Many of those who wandered into the Arkaim valley saw mysterious lights, fireballs and flashes of light at night in the sky.Allegedly, Arkaim himself has a powerful energy industry that influences the minds of the tourists who decided to visit this place.

Sasovskaya funnel10

On April 12, 1991, near the town of Sasovo (Ryazan Region), a strong explosion thundered, as a result of which windows and doors were smashed in half of the buildings of the city. No traces of explosives were found. The diameter of the funnel formed was 28 meters, and the depth was 4 meters. Eyewitnesses on the night of the incident in the area of the explosion saw huge flying luminous balls, and an hour before the explosion a strange glow glowed over the place of the future funnel.
Experts have an explosion of extraordinary power (estimated to cause such damage, you need at least 30 tons of TNT) associated with a breakthrough in this place of the gas jet, consisting mainly of hydrogen. Hydrogen, after entering the atmosphere, mixed with oxygen, forming a cloud of explosive gas, which exploded.
