Chinese copies of popular European cars
China has launched sales of the Landwind X2 crossover, a “twin” of the Russian Lada Xray. The model has similar headlamps, grille, front bumper decor, and at first glance it is almost indistinguishable from the AvtoVAZ off-road vehicle. According to the President of the Volga Automobile Plant, Nicolas More, this indicates that the design of domestic cars has become attractive. Let's recall other Chinese copies of popular European cars.
Russian SUV is not the first time becoming a victim of plagiarists. A couple of years ago, AvtoVAZ chief designer Steve Mattin blamed the Japanese automaker Mitsubishi for borrowing the X-shaped crossover design. Now the exterior of the Lada Xray has been copied by the Chinese brand Landwind, previously imitating the Range Rover.
Mini Cooper - Lifan Smily
Lifan Smily is the only Chinese "double" present in the Russian market. However, it is impossible to say that Smily exactly copies the design of the Mini Cooper, rather the cars have common features.Similarity is achieved through the use of the same stylistic techniques - for example, Lifan Smily is offered in a two-tone color, characteristic of the "British".
Rolls-Royce Phantom - Geely GE
An example of unprecedentedly ambitious plagiarism is the flagship Geely brand, copying the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Apparently, in order to outdo the British in luxury, the Chinese installed only one seat behind, but a real throne. Note that BMW, which owns the Rolls-Royce brand, was able to achieve a ban on global sales of the Geely GE limousine.
Porsche Cayenne - Hawtai B35
Chinese automakers rarely copy any particular model. As a rule, they try to take "all the best at once" from different brands, so that the result is absurd, often even caricatured. For example, the Hawtai B35 tries to simultaneously resemble the Porsche Cayenne and the Jaguar.
Mercedes - Benz G-class
The famous "cube" of Mercedes Gelandewagen also did not escape the fate of being cloned in the Middle Kingdom. Concern BAIC presented its version of the German SUV in 2014. Apparently, the designers of the company with a great heat and apply to the brand Jeep - otherwise you can not explain why the car was equipped with grille in the style of Wrangler.
BMW X5 - SCEO Shuanghuan
The SCEO crossover is an odious example of Chinese eclecticism.Taking the exterior of Lexus as a basis, the Shuanghuan designers added the back of the BMW X5 to the car and borrowed some architectural solutions from the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. At the same time, the label of the resulting hybrid clearly resembles the SsangYong company logo. As in the case of Geely GE, BMW through the court has achieved the termination of sales of SCEO - but only in Germany.
Range Rover Evoque - Longer Yuelang X1
Model Longer Yuelang X1 can be called a real parody. By itself, the tiny urban electric car, created by Hebei Cook Electric Vehicle and Jiangsu New Grant New Energy Technology Technology corporations, is quite in line with the fashion trends of the industry. However, designers for some reason gave him the features of a premium British SUV. Looking at the distorted proportions of the Range Rover Evoque is hard to keep a smile.
